RODER – about the art of living and staying on course in life

Roder is a course for you who want to talk with others in a small, safe group and where important conversations are held during seven evening gatherings and a follow-up gathering. During the course, you will have the opportunity to explore the forces that govern your life.

NOTE: The course is held in Swedish.

Roder addresses seven central life themes:

  • My direction in life
  • My inhibiting fears
  • My ability to come to terms with what has been
  • My feeling of not being good enough
  • My deepest longing
  • My expectations of love and community
  • My goals in life

Each course evening takes about two and a half hours and follows a fixed program:

  • Mealtime together over a bowl of soup
  • Time for relaxation
  • Brief presentation of the evening’s theme
  • Own reflection in silence with the support of a reflection booklet
  • Conversations in small groups with conversation leaders
  • Summary own reflection
  • Closing with a decision on change
  • The Serenity prayer, which we read together

This means that the course evenings contain a dynamic between individual reflection, small conversation group and large group.

The short presentations are based on research-based facts and reflections from a general human perspective. They always end with a reflection of the theme from a Christian point of view. These two perspectives are kept separate, as far as it can be done. This means that everyone can feel comfortable during the course evening, regardless of their outlook on life.

Roder is led by Daniel Demming, Anders Kardborn, Annika and Dick Hertzman.
